Experiential Learning

The Ozette hike was a fun experience of nature and history. We did a lot of walking so it was like being in P.E., which was nice. We all bonded and got to know each other a lot better. We learned about the Ozette village and their way of life, well kind of. It was a lot of fun either way. We learned how their houses were built and what they dressed like, and it makes me wonder what would have happened if that village was never destroyed. I mean they might have had a huge society or maybe not, but I wish I could have found out. The walk down to the beach was beautiful but very long. It was worth the trip, especially when we got to the beach.
In Crossroads it’s a better way of learning. You get more actual, hands on experiences. I think it is great. You get the same amount of work. It is just explained a lot better and it’s at a slower pace, so I can actually learn what I’m being taught. They make you feel like you’re a big family. I think all classrooms should be like this. It’s a lot more fun. You learn more and you are not bored doing it.
